Now I know that some people look down on cheaper helmets like these, as they feel that there is no way they are going to be as good as something which costs $500.Ā But here in the UK we have the Sharp Helmet Safety Rating scheme which puts helmets through a series of tests and rates them according to their performance.Ā These tests rate how well the helmets perform over and above the minimum safety levels and these scored 3* out of a possible 5*, which for a cheaper helmet really isn’t bad at all, especially when you consider that a lot of the more expensive helmets are not scoring as high.
